At first glimpse, you can’t help but admire the beautiful bands on this cigar. The detailed artwork parallels My Father’s mastery of fine cigar creation.
This handmade 6 x 50 stick showcases a dark brown Habano Rosado wrapper, a triple cap, and near flawless construction.
Upon nosing the wrapper, deep earth takes over your senses followed by a nutty undertone. The foot aroma is very comparable but more intense. Cold draw flavors are a strong earth essence with a bit of cocoa just for good measure. Time to toast her up and jump into what promises to be a fabulous smoke.

Initial flavors are notes of fresh-cut wood with a long creamy finish. This rich flavor goes on long after the draw is completed. It’s medium body/medium strength provides this vitola the perfect amount of flavor. The first impression is great with very enjoyable flavors.
The retro-hale flavors are keeping the soft cream furthermore adding a red pepper note white the strength of this cigar is fully realized. Plenty of great flavors to be had. After 1″ of burn a strong leather character begins to emerge, adding to its complexity.
As the cigar continues, the leather notes begin to take dominance along with a subtle nutty flavor. Together they create a unique set of flavors that is very enjoyable.
At the 1/2 point, the body of the cigar beings to ramp up to Full. The same notes are present while adding a delicate cream on the finish.
Starting the final 3rd, the stick has evolved into toasted nuts, cream, and black pepper waking up the palette. It yields full flavor while not overpowering in the strength category. Very well balanced. Approaching the band, flavors remain unchanged except for the addition of a red pepper note on the retro-hale.
I will be wrapping up now as I approach the final 1.5″ as it is beginning to get warm to the touch. You will want to smoke this one as long as possible!
Smoking Time: 54 mins
It would be difficult to find a bad cigar from My Father cigars. Under the watchful eye on Don Pepin, they craft many top-rated cigars. His years of work and unmatched knowledge reveals itself while enjoying this masterpiece.
The bold flavors from the mostly Nicaraguan leaf give bold and pronounced flavors meant for the more experienced smoker. To the more novice smoking looking to indulge in this flavor bomb, I suggest eating a large meal before lighting up. It will ease you into the deep end. A well-marbled medium rare Ribeye sounds like a great way to prepare for this beauty.
Buy It Again?
Yes! I purchased this cigar for $6.80 at a nearby tax-free Indian reservation and I could not be a more satisfied customer. I’ve seen these in several B&Ms for under $10 depending on local taxes. There’s usually a few of these in my humidor and continue to impress me upon every encounter.
